    The House that Ships Built

In general: As a history teacher, I loved this Inn! The house has a fascinating history and is beautiful inside. Very Victorian, which is enhanced by the wonderful service, tea at four, gorgeous flowers on the grounds, and excellent cuisine. The room was comfortable, spacious and the whirlpool was a nice feature. Location and surroundings: Wolfville is a perfect size town, with a lovely university and near many historic sites such as Grand Pre. We visited 2 historic house museums, and drove out to Blue Beach the next morning. Service: We did not use room service, but the staff were delightful to chat with. Dining: We bought the Overnight Gourmet Getaway package. It was a five course meal, and was very good. Not overly rich with sauces, but lovely meat and vegetables, and dessert. I want to mention Colin, who introduced me to Hodge Podge, and some of the Nova Scotian dishes that I hope to try next time I visit. He was also very knowledgable about the house and took time to tell me some of its history. Breakfast was plentiful and again, service was very friendly and efficient. Sports and leisure: not applicable. Useful tips: Plenty of free parking and easy access. We stayed in Halifax our first night and had to pay exorbitant parking located on the premises.

    Very good

It is a beautiful and historic mansion and we've been guests there many times.

The Blomidon needs to re-decorate. The dark woodwork contributes to a dark feel. Even though it is a house with history, it need not maintain the look of 19th darkness and weak lighting.

The service was Nova Scotia friendly and extremely welcoming. The restaurant at the hotel was marvelous and delicious. The room was big enough to just sit back and relax in a quiet inviting space. I loved it and would recommend this Hotel. The Hotel was on the Main St and easy to find since it was the biggest on the block.

Service, food and it's quiet atmosphere.

My son went to Acadia University and we fell in love with Wolfville, it is a pictureque town. On his graduation we stayed at the Inn and enjoyed our stay we decided for our vacation to return and take in the beautiful Inn and fall colors. We visited just after Thanksgiving and visited several wineries. The Blomidon Inn is very welcoming and the room very comfortable. We totally enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon.

    Fabulous

The website presented a unique character style structure...a little bit of Canadiana, but with rooms that were recently updated + well appointed. The actual experience at Blomiden was authentic to what was presented on the web.

The only negative was getting the luggage from the car to the room. Many stairs. An older person w health issues would never attempt it nor would a diabled person.

This is an inn with a lot of character, and charm, great service comfortable beds and excellent food.

Air conditioning in the corridor could be improved. Buy a new toaster so that it does not take forever to toast bread, and better selection of breads at breakfast, as well as cheeses, cold cuts.

Very warem and friendly first off The girl in the gift shop was a sweet heart and even offered to take our picture. We did not have supper there. We decided to go down to the Port Pub which was really nice. Loved sotting outside on the grounds. I would have liked to see a hot tub in the room as that is one of the bonus features we enjoyed on our last stay at the Ginger bread house.

No hot tub!!!!!!! An out door pool would have been nice as there is not alot to do!

It was a beautiful setting ,well taking care of,run by the same family for years ,new and up dated .The food was great, and the locals eat they all the time.Very peaceful and the gardens are very pretty..

Three stories ,and if you can't do stairs well ,do not stay on the three floor..

    Superb

I liked the house itself and the furnishings, also the gardens and location which is within walking distance of the town.

My older mother found her bed far too high- she could hardly get up onto it! (Grand Pre room). We should have requested a footstool. The afternoon tea was a lovely idea but wouldnt a real tea pot have been more appropriate?

    Service, food, convenient location.

Very dated decor throughout, inadequate lighting in guest room (for reading especially).

We really enjoyed the atmosphere at the inn. The staff in the dining room were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed several meals there.

I would have liked to have more light by the bedside. It was hard to read in bed.
